XRM is a blue sensitive, half speed film featuring mono-dispersed grain technology for outstanding image quality. This high contrast film is designed to provide optimum diagnostic clarity for a wide range of examinations. XRM is recommended for use with either blue rare earth intensifying screens or any other blue-emitting screen.

XRB is a blue Sensitive, high speed, general purpose medical imaging film. This high contrast film, which is resistant to handling artifacts, allows for optimum diagnostic clarity. New emulsion technology gives XRB film excellent antistatic characteristics. XRB is equivalent to Kodak RP, Kodak DF-75, and Kodak DF-76, as well as AGFA Radiomat-B.

XRO is an orthochromatic film. This green sensitive, high speed imaging film is designed for maximum detail visibility and smooth, low noise images. As a result of high-ortho technology, Type XRO film exhibits excellent image sharpness and outstanding processing stability. XRO film is equivalent to Kodak T-MAT-G and Kodak Ektavision G as well as AGFA Radiomat-SG.

Storage
All x-ray film should be stored in a cool (50° to 70°F [20° to 21°C] and dry (40% to 50% relative humidity) place. Boxes should be placed off the floor in a vertical position. The film storage area should never be subjected to chemical or other fumes, dust, radiation, or radioactive materials. Routinely rotate film inventory in order to keep film from becoming outdated.

Handling
XRO, XRB, and XRM films, like all radiograhic films should always be handled with care to avoid pressure marks, creasing, buckling and fingerprints.

Processing
Types XRO, XRB, and XRM are compatible with all name brand chemistries and are designed for all automatic and hand tank processing cycles. For optimum results, the following temperatures and processing cycle times are recommended.

During your film developing process, be aware that manufacturers of automatic non-roller-type processors recommend that all solutions be changed every two weeks.

While some automatic processors will provide replenishment automatically, other units require operator intervention to maintain the correct solution levels and strengths.

Daily replenishment is vital to maintain quality radiographs. While it appears that you are "throwing away" chemicals, you are actually preserving the chemical activity of the remaining solution. Solution life depends on:
• use factor - greater use means shorter life
• exposure to air - causes oxidation of the chemicals and shortens effective life
• temperature - the chemicals deteriorate from extreme heat; they become inactive in extreme cold

Each factor - use, air, and temperature - works to deteriorate the activity of the solution. Fresh chemicals usually produce the best radiographs. In order to maintain that quality over several weeks, replenishment is added in small quantities each day.
